Parks to close ahead of Storm Éowyn
Two public parks are set to shut on Friday as Leicestershire braces for the impact of Storm Éowyn.
Rare weather warnings have been issued for Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland on Friday, while a yellow Met Office warning over strong wind will be in force in the East Midlands.
Loughborough's Queen's Park and the Outwoods, off Woodhouse Lane, will both be closed to the public, said Charnwood Borough Council.
In addition, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council said Friday's Hinckley market would be partially shut.
Van traders will be open for business, but market stalls will not be able to trade.
A council spokesperson said: "Please stay safe as the winds pick up."
