Two men seriously hurt in two-car crash

Two men have been seriously injured in a crash in Leicestershire, which involved two cars.

Leicestershire Police said it happened at about 19:50 GMT on Tuesday in Ashby Road, Loughborough, and involved a black Mazda MX-5 and a beige Skoda Fabia.

The driver and passenger of the Mazda were taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham, where they remain in a serious condition.

Police are appealing for information and are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand.

Both cars were travelling towards junction 23 of the M1, said officers.

The force has also asked anyone who was driving along Ashby Road around the time of the collision to get in touch if they recorded any footage on a dashcam.
