How police traced Constance Marten and Mark Gordon

Constance Marten and Mark Gordon have been found guilty of gross negligence manslaughter of their newborn baby.

An Old Bailey jury convicted the couple over the death of Victoria, whose body was found in a shopping bag in a shed in Brighton on 1 March 2023, after a retrial lasting more than four months.

At an earlier trial last year, Gordon, 51, and Marten, 38, were convicted of child cruelty, concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice by not reporting the death of their baby.

A missing persons manhunt had been launched for the couple in January 2023, after a car they had been travelling in was discovered on fire on the M61 near Bolton.
