All lanes have reopened after a car overturned on the M1 in Leicestershire.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) said it was called at 06:57 GMT on Tuesday to reports of a vehicle on its roof on the northbound stretch of road, about two miles north of junction 20 for Lutterworth.

Two of three lanes were closed and drivers were warned there was about seven miles (11km) of congestion, with delays of up to 90 minutes.

But at 08:38, National Highways said recovery and "collision clear-up work" were complete and drivers were urged to allow up to an extra hour for their journeys.

LFRS said one person had got out of the car and was seen by East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Nobody else was injured in the crash, it added.
