Investigation after woman found dead in York
A woman has been found dead in York, prompting a police investigation.
North Yorkshire Police was called by the ambulance service to a property in the Tang Hall area of the city at about 09:45 GMT on Sunday.
A woman in her 40s was found dead at the address, the force said, with a man in his 40s arrested in connection with the incident.
He remains in police custody while inquiries continue, officers added, with the investigation described as being in its "very early stages".
A force spokesperson said residents would see an increased police presence in the area.
