Lincoln Castle has been given permission to stage concerts for the next four years.

Lincolnshire County Council will be allowed to hold up to 14 events each year until 2029, in partnership with Live Nation promoter Cuffe and Taylor.

The dates will be over a six-week period during the summer.

This year's acts will include Olly Murs, Sugababes, Sting and the Human League.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the organisers had been requesting permission to stage concerts each year, but the new long-term deal will save money.

More than 28,000 people attended concerts last year hosted on a temporary stage inside the castle grounds.

The gigs will also include a raised stage for wheelchair users, a bar and pop-up food venues.

Work on setting up this year's concerts will begin on 7 June, with the shows taking place between 13 July and 27 July, according to planning documents.

Other artists due to perform at the castle in 2025 include Texas, The Stranglers, UB40 and Rag'n'Bone Man.

Earlier this week, the organisers said they had been working closely with a disabilities group to "improve facilities for customers with accessible requirements", following criticism last year.
