A body found in the River Hull is that of a former firefighter from Beverley who had been missing since the end of December, police have said.
Officers recovered the body of Richard Mason, 55, from the river near Eske on Sunday morning.
Humberside Police said formal identification had taken place.
The force said a post-mortem examination would be conducted and there were not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
Mr Mason was last seen on CCTV heading along the bank of the river in the direction of High Eske nature reserve on 30 December.
A spokesperson for the force said his family were being supported by officers.
"Our thoughts are with them and Richard's loved ones and friends at this incredibly sad time," they added.
