Police investigating an unexplained death in Cornwall are appealing for help.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it was called at 08:40 BST on Sunday after a man was found underneath Collegewood Viaduct in Penryn.

The force said the man, in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Det Insp Pete Gee said: "At this time we are not treating the death as suspicious but as unexplained. We are working to establish the man's movements in the hours before his death."

CCTV appeal

Police said the man was described as white and between 5ft 8in (1.7m) and 5ft 10ins (1.8m) tall, of a medium build and with short ginger hair and glasses.

He was wearing a dark green waist length hooded coat, dark coloured combat style trousers and dark Adidas trainers.

He was last seen by friends in Falmouth at about 00:15 on Sunday following a night out, the force said.

It added he left them in Grove Place to walk back home to Penryn.

Det Insp Gee added we "would like to hear from anyone who may have seen him on foot around the access to the viaduct or in the Glasney Playing Fields and Valley area".

"We would like to hear from anyone in the residential area around the viaduct who may have captured him on CCTV or anyone driving in the area at the time with vehicle dashcam."
