Man found seriously injured after attack at home

A man was taken to hospital after being found at his Derbyshire home with "serious" injuries.

Police said the man in his 50s was found injured at his address in Skeavingtons Lane, Cotmanhay, near Ilkeston on Saturday.

Police said he was thought to have been assaulted there.

His condition is described by the force as "serious but stable".

Officers are appealing for information about the attack, in particular anything relating to the period between about 19:00 GMT on 25 December and 13:35 on Saturday.
