A woman's sexual assault in an early-hours attack in Telford has prompted a police appeal for CCTV and doorbell camera footage.

The West Mercia force said the woman was assaulted on Woodside Avenue in Telford's Woodside area between 02:00 and 02:30 GMT on Monday.

Det Ins Paul Drury said officers were looking for information along with footage of anyone passing near the scene at the time of the attack.

The officer said on Monday: "Understandably, an incident of this nature will cause concern for the public. I would like to reassure the local community that an investigation has been launched and inquiries are under way," he added.
