The bodies of a man and a woman have been pulled from the wreckage of a car found in a reservoir in Greater Manchester.

Police were called to reports of a crash at Dowry Reservoir on Huddersfield Road in Denshaw, Oldham, at about 10:10 GMT on Saturday.

The bodies of the pair, both aged in their 70s, were later recovered from the water.

Greater Manchester Police said an investigation into how the car ended up in the reservoir was taking place.
