Two seriously hurt in motorbike and lorry crash

Two men have been seriously injured in a crash involving a motorcycle and a lorry.

The motorcyclist and passenger were travelling along Ormskirk Road in Wigan when the collision happened at about 19:05 GMT on Wednesday.

Greater Manchester Police said the two vehicles had been travelling in opposite directions when the crash took place.

The force said the two men on the motorbike sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

"As the lorry has gone to turn right into Enfield Street, it has entered the motorbike's path and a collision has occurred," the force added in a statement.

No arrests have been made and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
