Plans to build 70 homes at the edge of a town have been approved despite objections over congestion.

The houses will be built on land next to White Horse Business Park in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, following five years of planning discussions.

North Bradley Parish Council has maintained objections to the plans, with congestion listed as a main concern.

But the proposals were given the go-ahead by Wiltshire Council, with an added condition for additional traffic calming measures to be considered for the nearby Woodmarsh Road.

The development, by Castlewood Property Ventures, will extend the southern edge of Trowbridge, said the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS).

A spokesperson for the applicant said changes to the scheme had been made after "many years of dialogue".

Initially, in 2020, 92 homes were proposed, as well as a 64-bedroom care home.

A project spokesperson said the outline application for the approved plan "will support the delivery of a high-quality, well-designed and sustainable development".
