Japan to build the world's most powerful supercomputer

In 2025, Japan will start developing the world's first 'zeta-class' supercomputer, a 1,000 times more powerful than the fastest supercomputer today.

But what are supercomputers and why do we even need them? We speak to Dr Satoshi Matsuoka, Director of the RIKEN Center for Computational Science, and Dr Bronson Messer, Director of Science at Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility, to find out more.
