Can you restore model steelworks hidden away for 30 years?
The owners of a Scunthorpe steelworks model are hoping it can get a new lease of life after being left in storage for more than 30 years.
It was created by Eric Smith, who was a former employee of Clugston Distribution Services, which was founded in 1922 and grew around the North Lincolnshire steelworks.
The model, created about 60 or 70 years ago, sat in the former head office of the firm and once had several moving parts, including a shunting locomotive, a road with cars and several buildings that would light up.
The company is appealing for experienced modellers to come forward and CEO Alistair Clugston is hoping someone can "restore the model to its former glory, so it can be remembered for the next 100 years".
