Will a heatwave hit Wales this week?

We're about to get a taste of summer, with lots of sunshine forecast this week.

But the threshold for a heatwave will not quite be met, says BBC weather presenter Sabrina Lee.

For a heatwave to be recorded, temperatures need to meet or exceed a certain threshold - 25C (77F) for most of Wales - for at least three consecutive days.

Those hoping for a balmy early May Bank Holiday may be disappointed, however, as the temperatures will drop further towards the end of the week and there is a chance of showers.
