Some pupils 'cannot wash' due to hygiene poverty
Some students in Northern Ireland are turning up for class having not washed for about a week because they cannot afford even basic toiletries.
That is according to Eileen Brown, project co-ordinator of the Dungannon hygiene bank in County Tyrone.
Her organisation is one of 13 hygiene banks in Northern Ireland which collect toiletries donated by the public and businesses and distribute them to schoolchildren, new parents and other people living in hygiene poverty.
