Watch: Driver jailed for using car as a 'weapon'

A man has been jailed for using his car as a "weapon" and deliberately driving into a man on moped.

Omar Harris, 33, of no fixed address, crashed his Ford Kia into the rider just after 14:00 BST on 1 August in Eagle Way, in Northstowe, Cambridgeshire.

The victim, in his 20s, suffered superficial injuries to his legs, arms and back.

Harris was sentenced to two years and three months in prison at Peterborough Crown Court after pleading guilty to attempted grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving.

Det Con Callum Fullwood, who investigated, said: "The level of violence used by Harris in this case was appalling.

"He used his car as a weapon and can consider himself lucky no-one was killed and that no other innocent members of the public were injured by his reckless actions."
