Link Centre's Trampoline park and soft play reopen after flooding

A soft play area at a leisure centre which sustained "significant damage" from floods has reopened.

With temporary generators providing power and lighting, the soft play area at the Link Centre in Swindon opened on Monday. The trampoline park is expected to open on Friday.

GLL Better, who operate the site, were forced to close the centre on 18 September after flash flooding.

A GLL spokesperson thanked customers "for their patience and understanding".

"Our team continues to work hard to restore and reopen the Link Centre as quickly as possible," they added.

The centre's changing rooms, swimming pool and ice rink, which is home to the National Ice Hockey League team, the Swindon Wildcats, remain closed, but the gym facilities opened last month and are now back to near full operating capacity.

The Wiltshire council owned site was forced to close after its key operational areas sustained damage from flood water, including electricity supplies, pumps, heating, ventilation and draining systems.
