A dog belonging to former BBC journalist Rory Cellan-Jones has been found after a dogwalker's van was stolen in London.

Six dogs - including Mr Cellan-Jones' pet Cabbage - went missing when the van was taken on Friday morning.

The vehicle containing the animals was taken from Erconwald Street near East Acton Tube station.

Mr Cellan-Jones later tweeted his collie had been found, posting: "Cabbage is home!"

All six dogs were recovered by Friday night.

Five were found "wondering around Park Royal together", while the final one dog was discovered in Putney.

Police said they were looking for a black Ford Transit van with the registration number AF20 XZD.

The Met Police said no arrests had been made and inquiries were continuing.

Earlier, Mr Cellan-Jones had said the theft had caused "huge anxiety for my family and the owners of the other dogs".

He said the dogwalker had stopped near to Wormwood Scrubs where he normally exercised the dogs, and left the van's engine running.

"He then turned around and someone leapt into the van and drove off," Mr Cellan-Jones told BBC Radio 4's PM.
