Arrest after woman raped near Preston
GoogleA man has been arrested after a woman was raped near Preston.
She was approached in Tan Yard Road, Catterall, at about 03:50 GMT on Saturday, Lancashire Police said.
The woman, in her 20s, said she had been attacked by a man on a footpath near the road before he fled.
A 25-year-old man, from Catterall, has been arrested on suspicion of rape and Lancashire Police has appealed for anyone with information to contact the force.
Det Insp Chris Naidu said: "We believe the victim travelled to the area in a taxi before a man assaulted her on a footpath close to Tan Yard Road.
"The woman continues to be supported by officers.
"We understand this is a very concerning incident for the local community and patrols have been increased in the area."
