New research claims social experiments on Scotland's Gypsy Travellers were a form of "cultural genocide".

The charity says a lack of rain has led to poor grazing, with pressure on resources.

Trading Standards say more than £500,000-worth of counterfeit items were sold at the event last year.

Police say 30 caravans and other vehicles moved onto the land at Waterer's Park on Wednesday.

But the council says there is "unmet need" for traveller accommodation in the area.

Police officers are accused of being "heavy-handed" with children by the Traveller Movement charity.

The travellers site at Piddlehinton will only be used from 1 April until the end of September.
