Police are trying to trace a man wanted in connection with a stabbing following a fight between two groups.

The BBC has seen a video believed to show disorder in Luton, with men attacking each other using machetes and large knives.

Bedfordshire Police was called to Dallow Road shortly after 12:45 GMT on Friday 17 January, and armed police were later seen at Luton and Dunstable Hospital after two people arrived with stab wounds.

Two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, but police also want to speak to Hamza Arshad, 22, in connection with the incident.

The two groups fled the scene in a medium-size black hatchback believed to be a Vauxhall Astra and a small black hatchback believed to be a Toyota Yaris.

Lewsey Road outside the hospital was later sealed off and a witness told the BBC he had seen multiple police vehicles and officers with guns outside the A&E department.

Det Sgt Lindsey Cook said: "This is a violent and shocking incident which took place at a busy time of day on a busy road. This type of behaviour is not acceptable and we are conducting several lines of inquiry to find the suspects involved in this vicious attack."

Det Insp Scott Fowler added: "We are urging Arshad to make contact with us, or for anyone with information on his whereabouts to get in touch.

"If you would prefer to report information anonymously, you can do this by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
