Funding for £265k park revamp set for approval
Nearly £270,000 is set to be approved for the refurbishment of a park in Stafford.
The borough council will discuss the allocation of funds towards the proposed revamp of Rowley Park, at a meeting on Thursday.
Should the funding be approved, a public consultation would be held with residents encouraged to share their views on the project.
The site, which is managed by Freedom Leisure, currently includes a 3G artificial football pitch - one designed to have the look and feel of a grass pitch - running track, tennis courts and a children's play area.
The council said the revamp would look at creating facilities for "toddlers and juniors" as well as a multi-use games area, walking routes and picnic areas.
A report set to go before Thursday's cabinet meeting said a draft masterplan for the site would be drawn up following the consultation.
