Overnight Orwell Bridge closures cancelled

Planned overnight closures of the Orwell Bridge have been cancelled after new bridge joints were successfully craned into place, National Highways said.
The bridge near Ipswich did not close on Monday night and will not be shut on Tuesday night, as had been planned, after "a busy weekend" of works.
A summer of various closures is planned for the A14 bridge, as National Highways replaces two expansion joints.
In a video, worker Barnaby said the work would now "continue as planned" following the weekend's efforts.

National Highways said: "The next stage is to attach the new joints to the structure, pouring concrete, reinstate the barrier and relay the road surface.
"We'll continue to work 24/7, including weekends, to complete our maintenance as quickly as possible and minimise disruption."
It expects the work to be completed as planned in August.
A contraflow remains in place, with one lane open in each direction on the eastbound carriageway.
