A 93 year-old woman is using her lifelong passion for knitting to help raise money for charity.

Peggy Moore, who lives at a care home in Glastonbury in Somerset, has been creating knitted toys, dolls, clowns and blankets.

Ms Moore has raised more than £1,000 for Children's Hospice South West by selling the items.

"Visitors and residents order things from me, I feel like I am knitting all the time, I like to feel I am helping somebody," she explained.

Over the years, Ms Moore has created more than 500 knitted items and believes she has used more than 1,000 balls of wool.

Her creations are available to buy from the care home.

Ms Moore, who is a mother of twins, grandmother of three, and great-grandmother of five, knits for around four hours a day.

Care Home Manager Edwin Jose said: "We are so proud of Peggy, her dedication and generosity are an inspiration to everyone here. "

He added: "It's wonderful to see all her colourful creations going towards a brilliant cause."
