Man has life-threatening injuries after car crash
A driver has been arrested after his passenger suffered life-threatening injuries when their car crashed into a wall.
The injured man, who is in his 20s, was a front seat passenger in a BMW 520D which crashed in Ovenden Road, Halifax, at about 21:30 GMT on 2 January.
West Yorkshire Police said the driver fled the scene, while a second male passenger was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-changing.
A man was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen and driving while unfit through drugs, the force added. He remained in custody on Friday .
Police said the car had been travelling from Halifax towards Keighley Road when it left the road and appealed for any witnesses to get in touch.
