A haul of illicit tobacco and vapes have been seized in just one street during a day of action in Lancashire.

Counterfeit vapes and tobacco worth £2,000 were recovered in tests at eight properties on Plungington Road in Preston.

Lancashire County Councillor Michael Green said police and trading standards officers were taking action against "unscrupulous" shop owners selling "shoddy and potentially dangerous products".

Two people were arrested for alleged immigration offences, one person for supplying a Class B drug and another for possession of a knife.

Lancashire Police said the operation "demonstrates the strong working relationships that we have with our partners and the commitment we all have to working together to tackle the issues that our communities are facing".

Green, cabinet member health and wellbeing, added: "We will always take action against unscrupulous shop owners who prioritise profits over the health and wellbeing of our community."
