Medway Council is asking people what changes they would like to see in Rainham town centre

Rainham residents and business owners are being asked to help shape plans to transform the town centre.

Medway Council said it was looking at the future of Rainham town centre and wanted to hear from anyone who lives, works or visits the area as well as anyone who owns a local business.

The consultation comes as part of a feasibility study for future regeneration work for the town centre.

Residents are able to share their views on the Medway Council website until the end of Sunday, 16 February.

A council spokesperson said Tuckey Design Consultants had been appointed to conduct the feasibility study.

Stakeholders have been asked to share what they like about Rainham town centre as well as what could be improved to make the area better to live and work in.

The study will help in "improving the town centre as a destination for local residents and reinforcing the identity of the town centre as a hub for the community", the council said.

Potential improvements for the town could include a wider range of shops, more markets and pop-up events, or more planting and recreational spaces, it added.

Feedback from the survey will be used to draft the feasibility study for plans for the town centre.

The study will be published later this year.

The survey is open and can be accessed on the Medway Council website. It will close at 11:59 GMT on 16 February.
