A semi-professional footballer who has been nursing an injury has decided to swap the treatment room for one of reality TV's most famous villas.

Billericay Town revealed on X that right-back Montel McKenzie had signed up to Love Island All Stars in South Africa.

The Essex non-league club said the 27-year-old was out for four to six weeks due to injury so had "decided to return to the television arena".

Billericay wished him luck.

MacKenzie appeared in Love Island season 10 in 2023, having entered as one of the so-called bombshells on day 16.

He managed to evade being dumped off the show until day 38.

The reality TV programme follows a group of men and women living in a luxury house, where they must choose someone to couple up with or risk being dumped from the series.

Table-topping Billericay travel to Dartford in the Isthmian League Premier Division on Saturday.
