A main road near to the M1 in Leicester has been shut due to a burst water main.

At 09:05 BST on Monday, Leicestershire Police said the B5380 Ratby Lane was closed in both directions from the A47 Hinckley Road junction to Wembley Road.

Part of Wembley Road is also shut, the force added, between the junctions with Ratby Lane and Scudamore Road.

Motorists have been urged to find alternative routes.
