Bingo hall looking for new site in town

A bingo hall is hoping to find new premises after it was given notice to leave its present home by the landlord.
Buzz Bingo, in Scunthorpe, said it remains open as it looks for a site to relocate to.
Landlord Zirconia Trading Ltd want to convert the site into a self-storage unit and although planning permission was turned down, the firm is appealing the decision.
Documents submitted for Zirconia's planning appeal show notice was served to the bingo hall on 4 April 4 and they must vacate the premises by 9 April next year.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee refused permission for the venue to be converted into self-storage on 2 April.
It was turned down on the basis it would mean the loss of a "valued facility" for the community.
Representatives on behalf of Zirconia argued at the time the bingo hall did not represent a community facility in planning terms.
A spokesperson for the venue said: "Buzz Bingo Scunthorpe is open for business and welcoming our loyal players and new customers to our club every day whilst we seek a new home in Scunthorpe.
"We are keeping our colleagues informed and have engaged them with the search for a new venue."
The firm added it appreciated the "loyalty and support" of its customers.
