Arrest after woman, 83, injured in e-bike crash

An 83-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by an e-bike.

South Yorkshire Police said the woman had been struck by the bike in Drakehouse Lane, in Beighton, Sheffield, on Monday.

The force said she was taken to hospital for treatment following the collision, but said her injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through careless riding while unfit through drink or drugs in relation to the collision and later released on bail.

The force said officers were keen to speak to witnesses and anyone who had relevant dashcam footage.
