Free weekend bus journeys offered as thank you
Free bus services are being offered in Kent as a thank you to passengers for their support in 2024.
Some Fastrack Thameside bus passengers can travel for free on Saturday and Sunday, thanks to a collaboration between Kent County Council (KCC) and public transport operator Go-Ahead.
Passengers will be able to travel free of charge on the A, B, C, and E services, although the offer excludes travel on the AZ service that operates between Home Gardens in Dartford and Garrick Street in Gravesend.
Neil Baker, KCC's cabinet member for highways and transport, said: "At a time when finances are tight for many, free travel on Fastrack Thameside routes over the coming weekend is a small gesture to make life a little easier."
Passengers do not need to book ahead of time to travel for free.
Baker added: "Fastrack Thameside has undergone significant changes throughout 2024, and people have shown their continued support for the service by choosing to take the bus over their cars on their journeys.
"This is our way of saying thank you for your support."
