Rail users urged to check journeys amid closures

Rail users travelling over the Easter weekend have been urged to check their journeys before setting off amid line closures.
Network Rail said all trains to and from Frome, in Somerset, would be affected by engineering work from 22:00 BST on Saturday 19 April to 22:00 on Monday 21 April.
Trains between London and the South West, as well as trains between Westbury and Weymouth, will not stop at Frome, with a rail replacement bus in place between Frome and Westbury, in Wiltshire.
Meanwhile, works between London Paddington and Reading will result in a reduced service between the stations, also affecting travel to and from other West Country destinations.
Jo Grew, Network Rail's route strategy director, said: "We're doing this so we can undertake some really important track maintenance works, and this will help us be able to run the railway more smoothly and more reliably afterwards.
"So I really would urge all passengers in the area to check their plans before they travel and use either the National Rail Enquiries website or the Great Western Railways website to do so."
Other parts of Network Rail's western routes are also due to see closures over the bank holiday weekend.
The track between Maidenhead and Bourne End/Marlow will remain closed, with a replacement bus service in place until Sunday, while East Acton to London Paddington will also undergo engineering works from Friday to Monday.
Work on HS2's Old Oak Common station in west London will also see a reduced timetable between Reading and London Paddington, affecting Great Western Railway services as well as the Heathrow Express and Elizabeth Line.
