The family of a man killed after the car he was a passenger in crashed into houses in Argyll and Bute said he had the "kindest heart".

Jamie Green, 25, was travelling in a red BMW when it was involved in the incident on the B842 at Knocknaha, close to Campbeltown, at about 16:00 on Monday.

The 23-year-old driver was taken to hospital for treatment but Mr Green was pronounced dead at the scene.

A family statement, released by Police Scotland, said Mr Green had "lived his short life to the fullest".

The statement continued: "Jamie was our beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend who was taken from us so tragically. Our hearts are truly broken.

"We have been overwhelmed by the support shown and the many kind words that have been shared by those who knew Jamie."

Sgt Archie McGuire said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Green at this difficult time.

"Our inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us."
