Police officer assaulted after car fails to stop

A police officer was assaulted while trying to apprehend a person travelling in a car which failed to stop.
The officer suffered minor injuries in the attack on Hall Avenue in Bradford at about 22:45 GMT on Saturday 8 February, according to West Yorkshire Police.
A force spokesperson said two people tried to flee after abandoning the Mercedes Sprinter they had been travelling in and whose driver had failed to stop for officers. One of them, a man, assaulted the officer after he was caught.
A 40-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker had been released on bail, police said.
The spokesperson said a man and a woman helped the officer after the assault.
They appealed to anyone who witnessed the attack to get in touch.
