Police found a "bag for life" containing a substantial amount of the drug Mamba during a raid in Nottingham.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers executed a warrant at an address in Sherwood Rise just before 09:00 BST on Sunday.

They found the synthetic cannabinoid, which is a Class B drug, inside the reusable shopping bag, along with traces of other substances, believed to be heroin, cocaine, and cannabis, as well scales and a suspected burner phone.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with the intent to supply a Class A and Class B drug, and has been bailed while inquiries continue.

The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of the Class B drug cannabis.

Sgt Mark Southgate, of the city central neighbourhood policing team, said: "Drugs can be the catalyst for many other crimes such as violence, shoplifting, robbery, and burglary, so any intelligence we gather around those dealing drugs will be acted upon robustly.

"Warrants like this one play an invaluable role in allowing us to follow up on suspicions and clamp down on anyone who thinks they can get away with supplying and selling drugs."
