Firefighters rescued an injured man from a vehicle after a two-car crash.

Crews from Ilkeston and Stapleford fire stations attended the scene at Highfields Nottingham Road, Trowell Moor, after reports of a crash at about 09:00 GMT on Tuesday.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said the female driver of one car was already out of her vehicle when crews arrived, and staff rescued the man from the other.

He was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to hospital, a spokesman said, while the road was closed for two hours while the scene was cleared.
