Police officer admits to drink driving

A police officer has admitted to drink driving after he was involved in a crash while on his way to work.

Liam Williams, 20, has been disqualified from driving for 12 months and was handed a £250 fine over the incident on Deansway, Worcester, on 18 February.

Mr Williams, who was suspended by West Mercia Police at the time of the offence, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court earlier.

The BBC has contacted the force for comment.
