Artists are being encouraged to submit their work for an annual open exhibition.

Chosen artwork will be put on show at the Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, from 10 October until 11 January.

The exhibition will celebrate the city's art scene and admissions are open to anyone aged 16 or above.

Up to three pieces of work, created in the past 18 months, can be submitted from 23 April to 8 May. The final selection is due to be chosen by a panel of judges in June.

The exhibition will offer artists a chance to sell their work, and a number of cash prizes will also be awarded.

Steph Edwards, from the gallery, said: "It is a highlight in the gallery's exhibition programme and draws thousands of visitors each year."
