Mountain Road remains shut after further snowfall
A major route connecting the Isle of Man's capital with the north will remain closed following "significant new snowfall" overnight.
The A18 Mountain Road will remain closed until at least midday on Wednesday following wintry showers on higher ground.
The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) said that while teams had cleared a significant amount of snow on Monday, much now needed to be "re-cleared".
Ronaldsway Met Office issued a further yellow weather warning for frost and ice across the island from 17:00 until 12:00 GMT on Friday.
The Ben-Y-Phott Road and the Tholt-Y-Will Road, wich lead onto the mountain, also remain closed but the Creg Ny Baa remains fully accessible from Douglas and Creg Ny Baa Back Road.
The DOI said its tractor-mounted snow blower, snowplough and gritters were operating on the carriageway and would move to the other two roads "in due course".
It said that on-call staff had been deployed in the early hours of Tuesday to grit roads affected by icy conditions ahead of the morning's commuter traffic.
Roadside salt bins were being refilled, and members of the public who come across any that were empty have been encouraged to report it to the department.
A previous yellow weather warning was in place until 12:00 GMT on Tuesday for wintry showers.
The Mountain Road has been inaccessible since Saturday night, when it was closed ahead of forecasted snowfall throughout Sunday.
