Man jailed after fatal M40 crash

A man has been jailed for seven years and eight months after a woman died in a crash on the M40.

The collision, between a van and an SUV, happened on 28 September between junction 11, for Banbury, and junction 12, for Gaydon.

Akashdeep Singh, who had previously pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, changed his plea ahead of the start of the trial and was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on Monday.

He also pleaded guilty to causing death by driving whilst disqualified and serious injury by dangerous driving.

In addition, Singh was disqualified from driving for seven years.
