Man falls ill and hotel evacuated as air con fails

A man has been taken to hospital after falling ill as a result of a faulty air conditioning unit that also saw people evacuated from a hotel.
Fire crews were called at about 08:00 GMT to the Crowne Plaza in Wollaton Street, in Nottingham city centre, where a floor had become vapour logged.
A 61-year-old man was taken to hospital due to inhalation issues and while crews initially thought the problem to be a fire, they discovered malfunctioning air conditioning.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said guests returned by 11:00.

Fire engines from London Road, Mansfield, Stockhill, Highfields, Arnold and Edwinstowe were called to the scene.
