Care home rated outstanding after improvements

A care home has been rated outstanding by a health watchdog after improvements were recognised by inspectors.
Wilford View Care Home in Silverdale, Nottinghamshire, supports adults of all ages and was rated as requires improvement following its previous inspection in 2022.
In its latest report, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) said the care provider had a "positive culture where people and staff could raise concerns".
Manager Helen Beacher said the result was a testament to the entire team's "dedication, compassion, and hard work".
In 2022, inspectors found there were not enough staff to meet people's needs, people were at increased risk of harm due to lessons not always being learned and that relatives were concerned about the management of the home.
The latest inspection, however, found the service was led by a "compassionate, knowledgeable registered manager", risks were "well-managed" and that residents and relatives "felt safe" there.
"All of the staff at Wilford View should be very proud of the findings of our report. Other care providers should look to this report to see what they can learn," the CQC added.
Residents and relatives told inspectors they felt able to complain and were confident action would be taken and improvements would be made, the report said.
One resident told an inspector: "I like the staff, because they make me feel at home. They take me on lots of trips that I've really enjoyed."
'Incredibly proud'
Mrs Beacher said: "We are absolutely delighted that Wilford View Care Home has been rated outstanding in our latest CQC inspection.
"This achievement is a testament to the dedication, compassion, and hard work of our entire team, whose unwavering commitment to our residents has been truly inspiring.
"Our journey to excellence has been driven by strong leadership, a clear vision, and a provider who not only recognises the challenges in health and social care but is also deeply committed to championing outstanding services.
"Through enhanced staff training, person-centred care initiatives, and a continued focus on wellbeing, we have created an environment where residents thrive that we are all incredibly proud of."
