Man arrested over A&E sex assault on elderly woman
GoogleA man has been arrested by police investigating a sexual assault on an elderly woman at a Leeds hospital.
The woman was in the A&E waiting area at St James's Hospital at about 23:00 GMT on Friday 13 December when the incident took place, according to West Yorkshire Police.
A 40-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the assault and released on bail, with the condition that he did not attend hospital other than for a medical emergency or pre-arranged appointment, a force spokesperson said.
A member of the public was believed to have seen the assault and alerted hospital staff, but their details were not known and they were being urged to come forward, the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, anyone else with information about the attack was also asked to contact Leeds District Safeguarding, they said.
