Seven people were taken to hospital after the house fire in Cardiff

The battery from an e-scooter caused a house blaze that left seven people in hospital, the fire service has said.

Emergency services were sent to the two-storey semi-detached house on Treseder Way, Caerau, Cardiff, at 03:45 BST on Tuesday.

One person was airlifted to hospital, with six others driven by ambulance.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the lithium-ion battery-powered scooter was being stored inside the property but there was no indication the blaze had spread to neighbouring homes.
