City streets sealed off after man injured

A number of streets, which were closed in Derby city centre after a man was injured in the early hours, have reopened.

Police said they were called to reports of a man needing medical treatment on Wardwick at about 02:30 GMT on Saturday.

Officers confirmed the casualty was treated by paramedics but have given no more details of his condition or the circumstances of the incident.

Several police vehicles were deployed to the scene while teams in protective clothing searched the area.

A tent was erected over one area close to a convenience store.

Cordons were put in place in Wardwick, Beckett Street, Newland Street, Bramble Street and Springwell Square but had all been lifted by 14:00.
