A pony that got stuck in marshland has been rescued by specialist firefighters.

Crews from Swanage, Wareham and Poole's technical rescue team helped the male pony after he became trapped on Rempstone Heath on Sunday.

They sedated him, pulled him out of the marshland with straps and "a lot of effort" and left him "upright but a bit wobbly".

Last month, a horse was rescued after it fell through a wooden bridge in rural west Dorset.
