A man has been jailed after "relentlessly" pursuing two teenagers to get them to send him sexual videos and images of themselves, and possessing indecent images of children.

George Rogers, 25, from Henleaze in Bristol, pleaded guilty to 32 offences and was jailed for three years and four months at Bristol Crown Court on Thursday.

He posed as a girl online and contacted dozens of children across Europe, the USA and the UK, police said.

One child told the court that Rogers' actions had left her scared to leave her house.

'Sickening offending'

Another victim said she struggles to trust anyone and feels anxious if she is in a social situation with men she does not know.

The court also heard from parents who said the offences had harmed their children's school attendance because of the trauma they had experienced.

Det Con Mike Tarling from Avon and Somerset Police said: "We wish to publicly acknowledge the incredible bravery shown by the nine girls and their families who have supported our investigation into Rogers' sickening offending.

"The impact of the lies he told is clear to see and will no doubt live with them forever.

"Rogers exploited the girls for his own sexual gratification."

Two of his victims were teenage girls living in the West Mercia and Hampshire police areas, and Rogers was reported to those forces in late 2022.

A warrant was granted in February 2023 that led to his arrest and his electronic devices being seized.

In total Rogers pleaded guilty to 11 counts of sexual communication with a child, 11 counts of making indecent photographs of a child and seven counts of threatening to disclose private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress.

He also admitted two counts of inciting a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity and one count of sending letters/communication or article conveying a threatening message.

In addition to his jail term, Rogers was made subject of a sexual harm prevention order, placed on the sexual offenders' register indefinitely and banned from ever working with children.
